EMDR Therapy

What’s Included

Safety

EMDR can sound, and feel pretty scary sometimes. You will be walked through the process slowly before beginning, so you feel safe, comfortable, and confident to participate in treatment. Additionally, you do not need to share details of the event or memory in order for EMDR to be effective, in comparison to other treatment options.

Support

As a client centered approach, if you wish to pause or stop at any time during processing, treatment will immediately cease. You are always in control. This is a collaborative effort- if you wish to focus on one event at a time, your therapist will happily accommodate. Each client is unique and will be treated as such.

Processing

At this time, the therapist will utilize Dual Attention Stimulation to metabolize the dysfunctional memories that are impeding your daily life. Please note most clients will need a minimum of 3 sessions (history taking, processing, and reevaluation), whereas others may need many sessions.

Virtual

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an empirically validated therapy that can be used to treat trauma and other negative life experiences.
