  • Counsellors have a fundamental ethical responsibility to take every reasonable precaution to respect and to safeguard their clients’ right to confidentiality, and to protect from inappropriate disclosure, any information generated within the counselling relationship. This responsibility begins during the initial informed consent process before commencing work with the client, continues after a client’s death, and extends to disclosing whether or not a particular individual is in fact a client.

    Limitations to confidentiality include:
    1) If you are considered a harm to yourself or others;
    2) Abuse or neglect of a minor, independent person's, or animals; and
    3) In situations where a court subpoena requires the information.

  • Coverage is usually fully provided for a Registered Provisional Psychologist, but you will have to confirm this for yourself. Coverage is not automatic and it is the client’s responsibility to contact their insurance company to determine if counselling services are included in their plan and to verify the service providers approved under the plan.

  • The cost of a 60 minute session is $235. Longer sessions are billed on a pro-rated basis. For example, a 90-minute EMDR session is $352.50

    At this time, clients living in Alberta, are exempt from GST/sales tax.

  • Sessions are always ten minutes less in duration than the time allotted. For example, a standard one-hour session is 50 minutes, an hour and a half session is 80 minutes (to allow for charting, research, etc.). Longer appointments can be booked, if needed, for example, EMDR sessions.

  • Self Love Counselling accepts cancellations if they have been made 24 hours in advance, or longer, without financial penalty.

    If a cancellation is made under 24 hours, the full fee will be charged automatically to the card on file.

    Please do not feel bad to cancel or reschedule, as we are human and understand life happens!

  • Clients can pay with credit card, or by e-transfer.

    E-transfer must be sent prior to the session start time.
